James Johnson

James has worked hard for five years at Mid-City Prescott, a designated feeder school for LACES (Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies). Like many families, we trusted that the feeder school system would ensure his smooth transition to the next stage of his education. However, LAUSD failed to properly inform us that we were still required to apply in November—something we were never made aware of throughout his time at Mid-City Prescott.

Now, due to this lack of communication, James has been placed on an extensive waitlist with little chance of attending the school he was meant to transition into. The very purpose of a feeder school is to guarantee a path for students to their next school, yet that promise has been broken. We are fighting for Justice for James and for accountability from LAUSD, ensuring that no other student or family has to experience this same injustice.
